How to Change Screen Resolution in Backtrack 4?Below is the tips and trick how to fix it.
This is my Operating System inside my Virtual Box. I really like virtualization for my experiment, because it's not harm anyone and also yourself. You can use VirtualBox for your virtualization solution, as long as using this application, there's no such problem happen and also the important things that this application is friendly for your machine because it's light not too heavy.
Okay, enough for the prelude…below is step by step tips and trick how to change your Backtrack screen resolution :
1. Open Terminal, and then edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf using pico, nano or other text editor
in the picture above, there's line says Modes "1024×768" , just change the 1024×768 to your desired screen resolution.
You should remember that if you change the value, you should change all of the entire Mode value to your desired screen resolution.
When you finish change all of the value, save the file (I'm using pico text editor) by press CTRL+O then CTRL+X.
2. The next step is you need to logout by clicking the dragon symbol at the bottom left, then click log out.
3. To get into your X just type startx from your shell.
4. Your screen now should be change to the new resolution.
